England were comprehensively outplayed by France as they slipped to defeat in their friendly at Wembley.
An impressive France went ahead when Karim Benzema played a one-two with Florent Malouda and fired into the net.
They went 2-0 up when Mathieu Valbuena converted Bacary Sagna's cross, while Samir Nasri hammered against the post.
England grabbed a consolation when Peter Crouch - only just on as a sub - superbly volleyed in Ashley Young's corner but it was too little, too late.
