UFO HUGE Orange Oval Artesia NM 10/14/2009

Big Bright Orange Oval UFO filmed Oct. 14, 2009 by me from my back yard in Artesia New Mexico!
I was laying on my lawn chair as usual looking for any unusual objects to film. I had the night scope/jvc camera next to me. From over the top of me from behind me came this HUGE oval orange object. I switched the camera on as fast as I could. By that time the object was by the trees in front of me. I was able to film some of it. It was so frikin bright it easily shown through the trees! I jumped up as you can see from the video and tried to get a lock on it again. I was able to film it some more as it passed from the trees then in front of the house. I would of run to the front but unfortunately earlier the battery went dead and I was plugged into the power cord, or I defiantly would have. I hope someone else in this area got it on tape. It was huge, about the size of the moon but was oval shaped. It appeared to be a dark orange in the middle and lighter orange on the outer. This I am sure would of looked great with a color camcorder, but you see I was using night vision and it was green. I feel super lucky to even get any of it! I was facing east the object flew silently over me going west.

I highly doubt a chinese lantern would be in Artesia, New Mexico, I live here.

That quite something Jim, did the orange object look as close as it did in the video? Chinese lanterns are popular over here in the UK, I've filmed some myself. This is no way one of them, one at this range you would see the single flame flickering like mad, esspecially if it was windy. And what's that sticking out of the top it? or do you recon that could be lens flare?

It was very bright and created the lens flare. I wish I had a regular camcorder for this one. It would of showed the true colors. I would say it was about 500 ft to 1000 ft over my head. There was no flame, just a strange irregular oval object.

i seen maybe the same type of ufo.it was orange almost like the evening sun,but neon orange.only the one i seen was green and turned orange then burst into space..it was my first sighting and it was very very close.it just appeared about 50 feet away max just off the ground,,it was about 20 feet in diameter,,it was crazy when it burst into space.so fast and odd what it did..this is not the whole story btw,but the sighting lasted about 20 seconds..it was invisible,then turned on light lika switch

Actually scratch my space junk theory that is moving far too slowly for that to be a piece of space debris.

I completely agree with ufonv. What he captured is absolutely no sky lantern. It is incontrovertibly 100 percent UFO. In fact, this video (as in exactitude) closely resembles in size and in brightness of an UFO (object) that I saw in Pensacola, FL April 2003: only it was pure white, 2 or 3 times higher in the sky, and moving quicker. And that UFO just vanished instantly into nothing before my very eyes as similar to a light be turned off. Tremendous catch ufony!!! 5 stars all the way.
