Shakin Stevens - Marie Marie 1980

Marie Marie,
Playing guitar on the back porch
I sit in my car,
While she sings so sad
Marie Marie

Marie Marie,
It's so lonely in these farmlands
Please come with me,
To the bright lights downtown
Marie Marie

I said, Hey, pretty girl,
Don't you understand
I just want to be your lovin man

Marie Marie,
The sun is down in the corn fields,
The evening is dark,
And you sing so sad
Marie Marie

(Instrumental)

Marie Marie,
It's so lonely in these farmlands
Please come with me,
To the bright lights downtown
Marie Marie

Marie Marie,
I got two weeks in back pay,
There's gas in my car,
And your folks say I must go
Marie Marie

I said, Hey, pretty girl,
Dont you understand,
I just want to be your lovin man

Marie Marie
Playing guitar on the back porch,
I leave in my car,
While you sing so sad
Marie Marie

Marie Marie,
I got two weeks in back pay,
There's gas in my car,
And your folks say I must go
Marie Marie

While you sing so sad
Marie Marie
While you sing so sad
Marie Marie
While you sing so sad
Marie Marie
While you sing so sad
Marie Marie

  • Mickey Gee WAS the best in his field bar none, but it wasn't Mickey playing the lead part on this, that honour belonged to Albert Lee, another legend.

  • This guy,,,would you believe the number one top-selling solo male artist of the 1980's in the UK?...airbrushed from history...

  • This performer would have took the USA by storm, he is an incredibly talented fella, all so a real family man. Mickey Gee was a legend in his own right, i would rate alongside the best guitar players in the Rock World, he was known by many, and loved by all who knew him. RIP Mickey.

  • Shakin' örök!!!

  • the second time watched this got to say he s not bad but he tries do do rockabilly, faked elvis-poses(really near) and to be sadly modern at the same time but the guitar-work is real cool

  • some way dont really like this guy but the song and the nice guitar twang

  • are them kids real ...they don't move

  • @cellanbassman for the regular studio versions of this song yes it was mickey gee along with dave edmunds stuart coleman and bj cole on steel guitar :_)

  • IGEN ez a zene! bocsi ha más az izlésed.
