Il complesso de "I Bit-Nik" si forma a Genova nel 1964, sono cinque musicisti provenienti da esperienze sonore diverse uniti dalla stessa comune passione per la musica beat. Nel 1966 dopo il primo dei cinque singoli incisi con la etichetta Meazzi, "Preghiera per un amico beat/Tu non ridi più", il chitarrista Giuseppe 'Pino' Fasce lascia il gruppo ed in quattro incidono due 45 giri: "Manifesto beat/Realtà n° 1" e "Cerca in fondo agli occhi miei/Svegliati e cammina", siamo nel 1967. Nello stesso anno collaborano con Dario Fo musicando la commedia "La passeggiata della domenica". Sono il primo gruppo musicale italiano a portare la musica beat in teatro come sono i primi ad incidere lo stesso brano sia in lingua inglese ("Nights in white satin" dei Moody Blues) sia in italiano ("Ho difeso il mio amore"). Nel 1968 Nanni Perazzo lascia il complesso e con il successivo ingresso del bassista Gianni Mondini e del polistrumentista Mauro Dassio (ex Bats) sono di nuovo in cinque come agli albori. Con questa formazione incidono due 45 giri "Hello goodbye/Ho difeso il mio amore" e "Per un amore/La fine" con sonorità differenti dai primi singoli beat. Per problemi insorti con la casa discografica il complesso si scioglie. Dopo una trentina d'anni, nel 2001, si riformano per dare nuovamente vita alla musica dei "Bit-Nik" con splendidi e coinvolgendi concerti e serate in Liguria ed in Basso Piemonte. The italian band "I Bit-Nik" is formed in Genova in 1964, they are five musicians who come from different musical experiences but with a common passion for beat sound. In 1966 after the first of five singles recorded with the label Meazzi, "Preghiera per un amico beat/Tu non ridi più", guitarist Giuseppe 'Pino' Fasce left the band and in four recorded in 1967 two singles: "Manifesto beat/Realtà n°1" e "Cerca in fondo agli occhi miei/Svegliati e cammina". In same year they work with the theater director Dario Fo writing music of the comedy "La passeggiata della domenica". The are the first italian band to play the beat music in a theatre as they are the first to record the same song in English ("Nights in white satin" by The Moody Blues) and in Italian ("Ho difeso il mio amore"). In 1968 Nanni Perazzo leave the band and the subsequent entrance of bassist Gianni Mondini and multi-instrumentalist Mauro Dassia (ex Bats) are back in five as their origin. With this group recorded two singles "Hello Goodbye/Ho difeso il mio amore" and "Per un amore/La fine" with different sounds than first singles beat. After some problems with the label the band broke up. Thirty years later, in 2001, they reformed to give new life to the music of "Bit-Nik" with beautiful concerts in Liguria and Piedmont.
