There were upwards to 700-800 people at peak, and we were all having a very peaceful protest. We were not blocking the flow at all. Then the local Albuquerque Police Department showed up and decided we must have been a nuisance and forced us all onto a very narrow sidewalk. Basically, what this caused many of the protesters to do was to go home. I guess APD got what they wanted... to disrupt our legal protest.
When I went through there, it was VERY hard for me to get through as people were walking in the middle of the street in the wrong direction in traffic. True that people were not doing this in THIS video, but it had happened quite a few times. So I can see why they were so careful about it.
