I won't argue with you there. Not a fan of either team.

It is so sad that it took the SEC so long to figure out that all people are just that people. maybe when you fill out any application when they ask your race just put HUMAN!!!! Nice that some schools figured thst out. we are all in this life together. GO BIG RED!!!!

Tommy Casanova played one more year for LSU, then went on to play for the Cincinnati Bengals(72-77). He only played six years in the NFL, but was a perennial All-Pro,and went to three or four pro-bowls, including his last year in 1977.

The Wishbone was all the rage in 1970! San Diego State had Air Coryell, and Arkansas had a pretty good passing game with Bill Montgomery throwing to John Rees and Chuck Dicus, but the run was still the preferred way to move in college football in the early 1970s.

John Sage was one of the greats on a great defense. He's too often overlooked because he played alongside Bevan, Anderson, Estay and Casanova, and then came Capone and Lafauci (who started on the D-line before switching to OG).

LSU fans still don't like Nebraska, even though the schools haven't played in a bowl game in over a quarter of a century. Those two schools should be playing more often.

The turf turned blue under the south Florida sun. American Biltrite went out of business in 1974, but the OB was stuck with the turf through Super Bowl X.

Bert Jones, who was LSU's backup QB in this game! Jeff Kinney and Jerry Tagge played a few years in the NFL, but were nowhere near as good as they were at Nebraska. Monte Kiffin was Nebraska's defensive coordinator.

Sophisticated passing offenses were still pretty much a foreign concept in all of college football at this time.
