I remember watching this and it was just mind blowing. What an incredible competitor Thompson was. Seb Coe was trackside when this happened and saw Thompsons amazing throw. He was walking past Hingsen and simply said "he's an animal isn't he?" Hingsen simply nodded in resignation and said "yeah".
Daley Thompson - Britains finest ever athlete imo and up there with the World's all time greats - Ali, Jordan, Pele, you name it.

I'm not sure if a video is still available. I recorded the whole series on videotape after it was shown by the BBC in 1988. The tape is getting a bit old so I copied it all onto my computer and the put the video clips on youtube.
