lol ive kept my xbox vertical in my musky basement on a carpet and stil havent ever had a problem, its been like that for 3 years and not planning on changing it

the disc tray made so that u can put the disc in vertical and not be scratched, also vertical is better. there is less surface area touching a hard surface. plus the fans are in the back so the back is all u need to worry about. and the big brick thing is called a power supply. and plugging it into a wall would be better than using a strip because u plug multiple things into a power strip. it can be bad if u over load an outlet. less things in one outlet is better than more things in an outlet!

putting the console in a vertical position almost completely blocks a major vent thats located on the bottom of the console (assuming that it was standing up). The big brick thing isn't rly a power supply...more like a transformer (the xbox doesnt need 120V...rather it only needs 100V...the rest is sent back to the brick and is recycled...). And finally, plugging your xbox into a power strip is better for it. Most strips today have a surge protector in them, so it would be better than the wall
