New York lawmakers narrowly voted to legalize same-sex marriage Friday, handing activists a breakthrough victory in the state where the gay rights movement was born.
I remember the day this law passed, my dad and I were visiting my grandfather. He's in his mid 80s, close to death, but boy did he come alive when he heard this. It was tough to sit there while my very own grandfather preached against and muttered over 'those people'. You could say it ruined my buzz. I still love him, but I'll let him pass believing there isn't a single 'unnatural person' in his family.
And I know that you only dislike gays because of your religion, but I can ask you many questions that could throw you off about your faith. For example, yes, it says that gays should be put to death, but it also says that eating shrimp is an abomination, to plant different crops side by side is an abomination, that I should burn my mother for creating cloth of two threads, and that I should put my coworker to death for wanting to work on the Sabbath day. Why don't you question these things?
@fabbehn There are many states, actually, everywhere from California to New York. That is one that I don't understand. A, it's family blood, and B, IF a child is born (I'm going to assume that people that possess the intellect tomarry their cousins may not be complete masters of birth control, either) rthere can be severe consequences to the infant's health.
Like I said, name one negative effect of a gay couple getting married.
@nomyaw Of course we can disagree, and it's a vital discussion to have, as human rights are on the line here.
People don't truly "leave the life style," they are just forced to surpress their feelings, just as any human could surpress an emotion or memory. They are not made to become straight at those "gay-to-straight" programs, instead they are simply taught to surpress and conceal their true self, which needless to say is a horrible thing to put someone through.
@TeensForTheFuture OMG jesus was not here to be their pimp silly... He came to set them free of selling their body. He came for the junkies, whores, homeless, everyone else who cannot measure up to society. Today we live under grace, not religious law. Be blessed, God loves you regardless of your situation
God also denounced prostitution, or at least selling your body, right? But one of the people Jesus hung out with was a prostitute. I don't believe in the Bible, but for those who do, it IS selective reading. Everybdoy must keep in mind while reading it that these were rules and guidlines made for thousands of years ago. Of course they're going to change as soceity evolves!

this shouldn't be a big deal to heterosexual men, it's not affecting your life, why complain about it?

@IamAsi94 if god really did hate homosexuals he would just snap his fingers and make them all disappear (or at least not gay anymore).
