Another great video.I love the sound that hit and miss makes. I bet it would have looked great in nickel plate

I have been making a Stirling engine and am having a problem. When I turn an item that needs to be 25mm long and a dia (Brass btw). of 5mm.When I move the tool into the work it will push the work away from the tool. I do chuck it up as close to the chuck as possible.and I am using a very sharp tool. I am thinking of making a small follow rest.

Any advice ?

@EarlRausch , make sure the tip of the tool is below C/L with a high rpm and the slowest feed rate. I am assume you are using a live center. Later, Rick.

Just ran a cut and BINGO it is spot on !. I did what you suggested,dropped my cutter below C/L and ran at a faster speed and slower cut. All is right with the world. I was using a live center so I did get that part right :)
