@martinjackson909 You can't prove a negative, agnosticism/atheism is the "null" hypothesis. We are simply contending that many of the claims made by religion fail tests of empiricism, are fallacies logically, or are statistically unfeasible. Show me one person claiming miracles in a God, living and dying by God, and I'll show you a different person with a different God, who is just as fervently convinced. They all have "faith," but without empirical evidence, who is to say who is correct?

@Adriankovalski We have electron microscopes capable of seeing individual atoms. Did you know that we can use enzymes to "unzip" DNA? Did you know that we've sequenced the entire human genome? Did you know that we can do the same to any creature's DNA, compare each corresponding segment of information, and deduce a percentage of compatibility? I'm oversimplifying it vastly, to fit it in this box, but do you *know* how accurate this genetic record of ancestry *is*? It's astonishing.

@TheBigCheesecut Cool opinion, bro.

Richard Dawkins is just exploiting people's lack of faith to sell more of his godawful books.

@Adriankovalski On the contrary. Chemistry is pretty well nailed down and particle physics is well on the way to being nailed down. To say that something couldn't happen because one wasn't an eye witness is absurd. Study, research and reason has answered most questions concerning the natural world. What remains is a work in progress and progress is being made. The 'God did it' hypothesis is simply unsustainable. It is a fanciful fabrication rooted in wishful thinking.

@PaulP567 you didnt see it and you still dont see it happening. You dont have one shredd of evidence of this happening right now. All you have is a claim of something you didnt see ever ever ever. Like i said your theory requires more faith to believe in than if i was to believe in the bible. Why do you people act like you have evidence its hillarious and sad.

Hey folks! I really want to go to the Reason Rally in D.C. in March, but I need your help: I can't drive due to my crappy eyesight and I need a ride. The problem is, I'm in a big power wheelchair and it would need to travel in a van with a lift. If there's anyone out there who lives south of me (Cincinnati south...) and you have a van with a lift, please pm me. I'll contribute to the petrol fund and I have my own travel expenses. Thanks!

@Adriankovalski Chemistry and energy together govern the automatic natural processes, including nature at its most advanced - life. Electrical bonding, energy levels, the Pauli exclusion principle, et al, are all associated with the automaticity of chemical process. Eventually, after billions of years, an automatic process fuelled by energy chanced upon a replicating chemistry, and life was on its way. The rest is chemical history.
Superstition has served its purpose. It's time to move on.
