ATTENTION!! THIS IS NOT THE ORIGINAL AUDIO!!! In an effort to re-release all the videos YouTube kidnapped, I'm complying with their "AudioSwap" option by swapping my original copyrighted music with their selection of "OKed" music. However, I'm beating the system by telling everyone to mute this new weird audio and play the original song (listed below). If you don't have the song on your computer, just YouTube search the album version of the song. Everybody wins, yay!

Oh, boy. This is the one. This is the vid where people are finally going to say, "ediepedie has officially lost her marbles." But, I'm content; I daresay I even hope I've lost my marbles, as it were.

I'm not really sure where this vid came from. I've always loved this song but been naïve to what it means. "Eskimo" is a slang term for cocaine, which makes sense if you're familiar with what an Eskimo kiss is. Once that dawned upon me, I took the song to be about a drug addict in desperate need of a fix.

Cue Jack Sparrow - with opium, though, not cocaine.

Now, I know what you're thinking. This is a Disney movie; Jack Sparrow is NOT on drugs. Disney movie or not, opium was a gentleman's drug back then and frankly Mr. Sparrow wouldn't act the way he does due to rum and a slight case of heat stroke alone. Well, I suppose you could factor in the general "Captain Jack Sparrow" façade, but that's besides the point.

This is not to say I'm on drugs or condone the use of which. I just thought it might be interesting to explore.

PLOT :: Post-AWE. Jack has basically given up on Elizabeth -- maybe he's even dropped by for a visit since Will left and she was still persistent on staying faithful. So, he's trying to escape himself, his memories. He turns to his Eskimo friend, opium. While opium (and alcohol) can give him a temporary vacation from what's hurting him, it only lasts for so long at a time. Jack becomes addicted, which does nothing for his mental health as he is already in grieving. He grows even more depressed and begins isolating himself from the world, even paying mind to thoughts of suicide. Soon, though, he gets an epiphany after a particularly emotional trip: he'll simply remove her from his memory. He'll erase every event of his life with Elizabeth Swann in it, right down to the bloody day he pulled her out of the water. The ending is (once again) left intentionally ambiguous. You can decide Jack's fate for yourself.

Believe me or not, I thought of this vid and already had it started on canvas BEFORE I saw "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." Fo' Real. Just wanted to say that since I plan on making ETotSM fanvids and don't want anyone to think I've resulted to stealing ideas from other movies.

Random clips from "From Hell." Sorry if that bothers you, as I know it does me, but, well, y'know. If you haven't seen it, go rent it. It's somewhat thrilling and Johnny Depp is heartbreakingly delicious as Inspector Abberline.

Song is "Eskimo" by Damien Rice. It just wouldn't be an ediepedie production without Damien Rice, huh.

The end -- and, consequently, my favorite part, of course -- is a Finnish opera. I don't speak Finnish, but I did find two translations that were very different in structure although similar in context. I've taken the liberty to mesh them together and embellish a teenie bit to my own personal liking here:

:: touch me
:: want me with your hands
:: so that I can feel you
:: touch me
:: not with your hands
:: but the way I feel you
:: from within my soul
:: a loud cry in my heart
:: makes me miss an Eskimo friend

Absolutely no copyright infringement intended; I just do this for fun. Most belongs to the Mouse -- the rest to the unparalleled Damien Rice.
