The recording of a John Peel Session by PiL (Lydon, Levene, Wobble & Atkins) at BBC Maida Vale Studios 4, London. The session is produced by Tony Wilson, and engineered by David Dade.

Broadcast of the John Peel session. This performance represents Martin Atkins official debut with PiL. The three songs broadcast are: 'Chant', 'Poptones', and 'Careering'.

  • Thanks for posting this. Love it- got a great sparse, desolate feel to it, far better than the album version.

  • Probably my favourite ever PiL song. Have always loved the echoey, spacey sound/feel of the Paris au printemps version but this is great. Unfortunately as madcapoperator pointed out, the bass sound is a little weak here.

  • I like how these sessions are actually much better produced than all of metal box lol. still, the bass doesnt have the same oompf as that album here.
