All that said, some of the most successful tanks I have seen keep it as simple as possible. Maintain cal/alk/mag and trace elements with water changes. If these tanks can see 5 years + of exceptional growth and health it really begs the question of how important are all the trace element products everyone wants to sell you.
Beyond that you may address individual trace elements if you wish. We recommend three things when dosing trace elements, this includes products that contain a mixture of trace elements like the one you mentioned 1) have a clear goal level you are trying to maintain. 2) Make sure you have the ability to measure if you are reaching that goal 3) Devise a method to test if the added effort and expense is worth the perceived benefits.
We prefer not to add arbitrary amounts of trace elements because each tank utilizes trace elements at different rates depending on organisms housed in the aquarium. Some trace elements also precipitate out which requires you to shake the bottle before each dose and makes automating the process much harder. Our recommendation is to manually replace calcium, alkalinity and magnesium and replace trace elements via a good water change schedule.

Do the calcium and alk. products contain additional trace elements like B-ionic?
