  • That's the problem of digital vs. analog. Digital can save you a lot of space but just don't sound the same.

  • Agreed. But you can improve the digital sound by running the audio through a vintage preamps rather than only a (sterile) soundcard.

I do that sometimes and it helps, not to say it sounds like the original gear off course.

  • @odakueffect I'm new to synthesizer lingo and this may not make sense, but is there some kind of sound hardware that would augment the digital audio coming through the computer(like a preamp)? I'd love to know if there's such a thing.

  • Wow, I've always wanted to try a synthi. This is as close as I will get for awhile

  • That's pretty good! I notice the pitch is higher than in the album version or the live Pulse version by about a whole step, but the tonal characteristics are very close. Obviously, it's missing a few things like the synthesised hi-hat and also the big panning sounds, but this is very respectable.

  • what about the percussion made with the noise generator??? how can i create it??

  • @andrecarioni: I think it starts with an E, and Wikipedia says E3, G3, A3, G3, D4, C4, D4, E4. So maybe the wequencer of Gilmour was out of tune on purpose.

  • I ve just picked the Synthi Bass 03 preset, and added the pins as you show in the youtube video, but still i do miss the right notes, the right pattern for it. i will try what gilmour told me "c5, c4, d#4, a4, g4, d#4, f4, Bb4"

still, if you can hel pme onthis, would be nice

  • Hellay Deb!

Any chances to get the preset from you ? tks

  • Can you tel me where did you get the software from? i've searched the Internet but I couldn't find anything, thanks

  • And by saying "even my Prophet 08 sounds better than this", he means that the new Prophet sets a low standard of comparison. There is no way that he spent all that money to get a unique analog polysynth like the Prophet just to say that.

  • I think I know what you mean!
