Day 3287 Anarchy Online

Anarchy Online turns 9 years old, and this year's video was a torture to make. Given that the last video had been accepted so well, it was difficult not to use the same areas that were shot in the Day 2922 video. This one went through another version, which I will probably not publish, but I thought this other idea was good at the time... and what a mistake that became. It's not to be any sort of an advertisement for AO -- it is a 100% tribute to the community and the development team behind the game. Going through several completely different concepts about how I was going to carry out the execution of this video, putting in at least 24 hours of raw work, and working with over 50GBs of raw in-game footage -- here is the result I ended up being content with :] (by the way, HD looks awesome, and you may spot some small details as well as some quick shots of the in-game dev team if you replay through enough!)

Considering the impact this video had on me, who was almost tearing up watching it, I can't imagine how the Devs felt about it.

To realize that somewhere in the world, regardless of space and time, another being grasped all of what they tried to explain in 3D, another being was able to synthesize it into a strong essence of what it was to be there.

They must have been tearing up to.

Congratz on your position at Funcom, please make AO come back. I miss it, every year a bit more. I miss it so much
