  • Lovely tone here! Can you get into that Bonamassa/EJ violin tone with the Barber DD paired with some other boost, or does the tri-boost play a significant part here?

  • @TurquoiseArmies

You can definitely get it with the DirectDrive by itself - but the Triple Boost makes the sound a bit fatter, which is really helpful on the bridge pickup with the G&L Strat. It's really all about getting a smooth OD tone dialed in and the right setting on the delay. I see you posted on my other vid, but I definitely agree, the DD has more available gain than a tubescreamer, is more dynamic, and has more of a Marshall voice. It can still do the SRV stuff too.

  • how much did that cost? I'm looking for a Legacy but i haven't been playing guitar for that long so I'm probably looking more at the tribute series. is there a huge difference?

  • @shizaaaaam $1100 but that was 4-5 years ago. I haven't played a Tribute. You can find some nice deals on the USA guitars used I think that is the best option.

  • Great solo...what was your heat/volume & toggle setting for the Outlaw Supply Texas Triple Boost?

    Thanks!

  • Thanks...I was playing this at pretty low volume so I probably had it set around noon. Was using it more to impart some "color" to the sound rather than push the amp into power tube od.

  • This sounded like blues with a little bit of Eric Johnson. You sir are a winner.

  • i just bought a legacy made in or assembled in indonesia....no paint.....one piece neck and i am surprised how much i like it looks feels better than my american strat which cost more............dont know if i will replace pickups seymore antiquitiy?? never heard of those....

  • I put Seymour antiquity's in mine, what a guitar tho. Whenever I pick it up I fall in love. Probably better than my Fender's altho I love them also.
