"Although we are not able to see Padmasambhava in person, his wisdom mind has manifested in the form of mantra; these twelve syllables are actually the emanation of his wisdom mind, and they are endowed with his entire blessing. The Vajra Guru Mantra is Padmasambhava in the form of sound."

@DJQuips No, just Tibetans. There are three main traditions: Theravada (School of Elders, Southeast Asia), Mahayana (Greater School, China, Japan, Korea), and Vajryana / Tibetan Buddhism (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia, Bhutan). This is a Vajryana Chant, considering Padmasambhava himself brought the Tibetan School of Buddhism to Tibet from Kashmyr on the Silk Road. There are three other schools sprouting in the Tibetan realm too. Very complex philosophy and lots of literature for all schools!
