@Kherudjhuti - LOL Good one! Kinda disgusting... but good. I forgot all about this. Glad Garces won.

@gtennisplayer74 totally agreee! If I'm not mistaken Appleman's restaurant is across the street from whole foods on Bowery in lower Manhattan. just walking past it give me a chill and the dry heaves. He won a Chopped and was so darned unlikable, whenever his interviews were played, I turned the volume down. the unblinking stare and unwavering arrogance where self confidence could be, is such a turn off. his food would give me indigestion.

@McKellster93 lol. see. I thought I was the only one on this page who finds him a bit creepy. His food looks delish, but I could have sworn I saw a little piece of size 14 woman skin in one of the plates--oh wait, that was a copy cat. lol.

I've eaten at Mehtaphor in Tribeca. Awesome.

I sure wish that Chef Mehta had won!!! He seemed so very globally talented! *sigh*

LOL!!!

Aw, c'mon, guys it WAS funny! He does have the perfect accent- "have the lambs stopped crying, Clarice?"
However, I do like him, I think he's a very sweet guy.

Jose Garces won the deserving title of the next Iron Chef. Frietag lost because her dish was kind of lacking consistency.
-
We're waiting for him to say "Quid pro quo, Clarice".
This guy's got something a little sinister & freaky about him.
Not charisma... just something weird.
Wish Frietag had won, hope Garces will.
Wouldn't it be weird if Mehta makes liver w/ fava beans & a nice chianti?
By far the best Iron Chef contestant... smart, articulate, and his food looks so good!!!

There's something about this guy, I think he has presence and I like his voice -- maybe there's a natural friendliness about him that makes him stand out to me.
