The Assembly Battle Scene

1st thing the content of this video is acquired from the internet, I do not have the whole movie. I do not want to commit any copyright offense so this video might be deleted if flagged inappropriate. The purpose of this video is only to show one of the battlescenes in the movie.

This is the first battle scene (there are lots) from Feng Xiaogang's war film The Assembly (Ji Jie Hao). It is a film about the Chinese Civil War from a Communist perspective. What makes the film differ from other Civil War films is that it depcits it as what it was-a bloody tragic conflict between men instead of some dramatic mass charge full of glory and victory.

The movie is based on a novel called "A Legal Case". It is about a Civil War veteran (former PLA soldier) toiled for decades,looking forward to redeem the honor of his KIA comrades. Those people were listed by official as POW or even traitors. It is a true story,the real person's name is Wang Ai Fu. The old man died before the movie came out, in poverty, sickness and loneliness. However, the movie has a happy ending with recognition to fallen heroes.
