Your wedding "event" should be a tiny portion of what your marriage is really about. When people make the WEDDING the THING, the MARRIAGE has a very hard time working.

This is why I'm determined NEVER to get married.

1. Why pay $10,000 for something that lasts 4 hours? You could go on four great vacations for that kind of money.

2. Do you want to be stuck all afternoon in one room with every annoying relative who you'd gladly pay NOT to see?

3. Weddings are, in my opinion, nothing more than advertising that your sex life is now "legal". Why should I announce my living arrangements to the entire world?

I've seen the episode with the bride that gets ditched, and it's actually kind of sad. It wasn't entirely the bride's fault. Her daughter apposed of marriage so much and acted up, that the groom decided he didn't want to marry into his fiance's family.

I am a bride getting married in October. i have told my family and friends to kick me to the curb if i behaved like this. Of course my wedding day is my day. Its also my fiance's day, my parents day, my brothers and sister-in laws, my in-law's day, etc!!!
