Be happy with your gun. its good for anything you might need it for. including, but not limited to, shooting mupltiple threats in rapid succession.

ahhhh it's not that big I could conceal it any day
-
I have a question. Will I be able to let my brains out with this glock? Thanks.

Wow this guy has no idea, there are people walking around with FULL SIZED sig's with tactical lights and lasers so in reference 23 is perfect. Because its smaller than a 22 for CC and bigger than a 27 so it's a good SHTF handgun choice too!

Why do you feel the 23C is not good for home defense or CC?
-
@GONZO0710 I did NOT get a chance to shoot the 23C in low light conditions. I've read that it doesn't affect night vision but I can't personally attest to it. I did, however, compare (to a friend) the flames escaping the ports like the flames that escape the exhaust pipes of a top fuel dragster. I can see how they might affect your night vision. I liked the way the flames bracketed the sight picture of the target in a "V". They made me think I might like the XS Big Dots for my XDm.

@GONZO0710 Part 2: The worst case scenario is that you're in a gunfight for your life, not whether someone gets burned if you get in a gunfight for your life. While training is paramount, you should never ignore the equipment you train with. Equipment advantages equal life saving advantages. We've all changed sights, polished ramps, done trigger jobs, etc. etc. etc. To say the Glock 23C is useless as a home defense tool is silly. I believe it's better for home defense than the Glock 23.
Part 2 of my response: I feel the possibility of firing so close to someone that it risks burns is so small as to be negligible. On the other hand, anything that helps me kill a bad guy before he kills me or a loved one is a HUGE TACTICAL ADVANTAGE. There may be other reasons for not carrying this weapon for home/self defense but I don't think the compensator is one of them. That's my opinion and you know what they say about opinions; opinions are like buttholes...

@BobReedFirearms Pt 1 You make some good points. The thing to remember is we all imagine best case scenario. We all hope if we needed to use our weapon to keep our family safe that we would get between the bad guy and our family and employ our weapon perfectly and stop the threat. That is not always the case and people need to plan for worst case scenario. I am 100% sure there has been plenty of incidents where someone had to take a shot at someone with their weapon by their face......

@BobReedFirearms Pt 2 or by someone elses face. The last thing you want to do in a gunfight is have to worry about follow up shots with a chared face or having no vision due to burned eyes. If you are worried about follow up shots being easier that seems like a training issue or maybe there is a need to reduce the caliber of your weapon to medigate recoil and muzzle flip. With proper training someone can make effective hits on a target with any caliber. Key is training not a ported barrels IMO

@GONZO0710 By the way, I'm not a Glock guy at all. I just happened to shoot the 23C the other day and was really impressed by it. Also, thank you for the video. I certainly didn't mean to be rude by forgetting to be courteous and I apologize for that.

@BobReedFirearms Pt 1-No offense taken, I enjoy other peoples perspectives. Again i'm not the expert in all things firearms. I do want to clarify that i didn't say 23C is useless for home defense. Were you able to fire the gun at night or in really low light conditions? If so you would have seen how bright the flames coming out of the ports are. They are right in your fleid of view when aiming the gun. Going from sleeping or being in the dark area to shooting a compensated model with cause

@BobReedFirearms Pt-2 It will cause your vision to be altered significantly. I have shot the C model as well as the reguarl 23 and to me the comp isn't that much different to where the benefits outweight the disadvantages. Weapon upgrades that do not add risk in ANY scenario i can advocate but if there is even a .01% chance it can affect the outcome of the fight in a negative way is a no go for me. Good conversation though.
