  • Conclusion:

So, I would agree that fighters should be allowed to throw elbows in the _UFC_. If Dana wants to take elbows out of the UFC, then fine, I have no problem with that, at least change the name to something different. I mean I'll still watch 'cause I love to see a good scrap no matter what the rules are. But in my opinion, this isn't the UFC anymore. I respect what he's doing and fighter safety is important, but the whole point of the UFC was X style vs Y style

  • Part 2:

And here's where I have a bit of a beef with the UFC. The "Ultimate Fighting Championship" was started back in the 90's where fighters could come out representing their own styles. It was no hold's barred and then people caught on to the fact you can fight better with grappling and striking. Then along comes Dana and it becomes Dana's world. So when you start chipping away and removing X and adding rule Y, then I ask: Why are we still calling it the Ultimate Fighting Championship again?

  • Hey brother, good video, I liked it.

    Part 1:

Personally I'm of both camps when it comes to elbows. On one hand, they offer a great advantage to the guy throwing them and you have more strking options, if you're a clinch kind of guy, then you can also fight they way your comfortable fighting. On the other hand, they can really fuck a guy up and when it comes to fighting: Would you really want to be on the receiving end of someone going to town on you with elbows?

  • you get cut you get cut. Maybe a fight stopped due to cuts should go to desission instead, but forbidding elbows would take a huge part out of the game.

  • i want pride and ufc rules in every fight. knees, stomp kicks and elbows to a down opponent should be allowed. and fewer weight classes. go back to the old rules with over 200 and under 200 lbs. let the runts fight in the WEC and the other minor leagues. I remember one of the early UFC tournaments where a 190+ lb gracie fighter pwned a 230+ lb fighter for the championship fight. Let Anderson Silva fight Shogun Rua and Brock Lestner to see who is really the best

  • Elbows to the head of down fighters are barbaric. Also knees to the head to down fighters are worst! You have gravity on your side and are coming down with a tremedous about of force. These are Professional athletes, trying to earn a living. This is a sport ...not a death match!

  • in pride you can kick when they are on the ground

  • Agreed 100%!

  • pride rulls baby all day

  • keep the elbows its a fight not a dance. both the fighters can use them so its fair game. but i think they shud bring bakc the pride round system 10 mins then 5min 5mins. an ye its shit getin stoped on cuts but it happens an its part of the risk get on with it.
