Thanks mate, I'm currently still in High School down here in Australia. Is it alright if I use Maya 2008 instead of 8.5 since I do not have access to the older versions?

this is great! I wish I had found you earlier in my Intro Maya class. Since I am Learning Disabled, I am usually a little slower than most. This "class room" will help me pace myself accordingly without feeling I am behind. Keep up the good work.

if you're talking about animating then 12 to 24 fps is usually the standard.

2010 is just a little better. same layout though. i have 2010 also. heard you can't render in mental ray in 8.5 either.
