@LuqmanNaq I was telling people that this was coming back in 1983, and they laughed! I recommend investing in tangible assets, and fortifying your home ASAP. Bullet-proof windows are a must! Organize your neighbors, and form an armed local security force to patrol the streets. Within 72 hours of bank closures, the looting will begin - maybe sooner. Fresh water, ammo, and food will be the most valuable commodities. Gold is good, but you can consume it...

@AlembicVapor If you believe the economy is the only problem then I can see how your proposal is rational. However, it will never be implemented. The government's and Fed's trumps are 'stimulus', public service cuts, and Tax. I'd advise you to start preparing for collapse, I mean that sincerely.

America must end free-trade for a period of 10 years, so we can rebuild the industrial infrastructure of this nation. All corporations that wish to sell their products within the borders of the U.S.A. should be based in the U.S.A. This is the ONLY solution for this countries problems. After the 10 year moratorium on imports, we could then look at bringing in a CONTROLLED sum of imports.
