well, what would you claim the average medical loss ratios to be, and what source do you have for your facts? It seems to me to be a fact that Advantage plans pay considerably less on medical care out of every dollar they receive than old-school Medicare ...
tedbaxt...your thoughts are colored and your ratios are not accurate. Come back to me in three years when your parents are eating dogfood because their . Corporate Inefficiency???? Have you been to a Medicare only Clinic? Please....Please get a real education on the ramifications of socialized medicine before formulating adhoc opinion because of something someone TOLD you....
Well ... the medical loss ratios of Advantage plans are on average something like 85%, vs. 98% for traditional Medicare. Why should my tax dollars subsidize all that corporate inefficiency instead of, like, actual medical costs for seniors?
tedbaxt....One should not speak of things he does not know about....Read about min requirements for Medicare Advantage Plans before you opt to bankrupt 35 million Seniors....Moron
funny just watched an msnbc clip hardball with guy from Texas he wants waist taken out of Medicare so does Obama glad redpubs and dems agree on that lol also new myth debunked by fact check Medicare will pay more to doctors and more for perscriptions it will only eliminate waist that people are not using very cool glad dems and repubs agree on one part of bill anyway if repubs had there way would get rid of Medicare all together because its to socialist
The reporting here is very one-sided. It makes it seem like any sane person would say Medicare Advantage is great, and that the Obama admin is just looking to save $ by taking things away from seniors. But in fact there is another side to the story. Some of the benefits that Medicare Adv. plans give are actually quite deceptive: they'll offer good benefits (like vision or dental care), but at the same time they can drastically *reduce* a person's coverage for things like long-term nursing.
