Fog Chiller Trash Can Style with Bag on Outlet Halloween Yard Haunt How-to

Our trash can style fog chiller used on Halloween for heavy, lingering atmospheric fog effect. Construction is based on the excellent original findings of www.ghostsofhalloween.com

We don't sell these home-made DIY chillers. Neither should you. We give credit where credit is due. So should you. Refer to the dates on videos. The most original hauntforum community modification being the trash bag on the outlet is to create back pressure to slow down and spread the fog.

26 gallon trash can. 14 lbs of bagged ice. (2) 4" dia x 8 ft pieces of aluminum drier ductwork clamped and water-proof taped together. Coiled inside to be chilled by the ice. 400W Gemmy fog machine & remote timer.

The concept is that fog has to travel through 16 ft of cold aluminum before exiting the chiller. Results in dense, lingering fog. Lawn & leaf bag attached to the outlet to slow down the velocity and create back pressure while spreading the fog out onto the grass wet from rain. Some shots show the trash bag removed. The fog rises more but is still slow, dense, heavy and lingers. Examples at 4:25 min.

This show & tell video was taken immediately following our Halloween Yard Haunt prior to dismantling. The unscripted prop descriptions are as complete as time would allow. Hopefully it's informative for first-time yard haunters. Description is followed by clips of the fog chiller in action during Trick-or-Treat.
