On July 18, 2007, a joint hearing was called by the House Subcommittees on the Middle East and South Asia; and on the International Organizations, Human Rights and Oversight. Rep. William D. Delahunt (D-MA) is the Chairman of the latter Subcommittee. The hearing dealt with the subject matter: "Reconstruction in Iraq's Oil Sector: Running on Empty." Chairman Delahunt sharply critiqued the Iraqi Oil Giveaway scheme. The law, a privatization ploy, was recently passed by the U.S. Congress. It pressures the Iraqi Parliament, via "The Hydrocarbon Act" to give away about 75 percent of its national oil resources to foreign oil companies. It was pushed by the Bush-Cheney Gang. For background on this matter, please check out Ms. Antonia Juhasz's Op Ed piece in the NYT, on March 13, 2007, at:http://www.bushagenda.net/article.php?id=369; also, the statement of Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich (D-OH), located at:

Scot ,whichever of the three factions agrees to the oil law will get money [dollars]to buy weapons of mass destruction to destroy their nayebours, with the help of brave overflights from us airforce .
This is a brazen example of democracktic super power banditry and would put a vampire to shame

24Sept07 Is Iraq parliament just a puppet organisation of the USA's making??
"The US Senate is to vote as early as Tuesday on a plan to subdivide Iraq on ethnic lines, touted as the sole hope of forging a federal state out of sectarian strife." AND 79% OF CITIZENS THINK THE USA IS OUT TO GRAB IRAQ'S MAIN NATURAL RESOURCE OIL!!!

Great that my Rep. exposes the continuing theft of Iraqi oil by US corporations. Pity that Delahunt lacks the guts to praise Hugo Chavez for using his country's oil to subsidized the poor in our state, MA, so they can stay warm in Winter.
