The intro says it's a VW Beetle/JETTA/Bus so I'd say that it is a Bug body on a Bus frame with a Jetta TDi Diesel engine.

What is the compression ratio? How the heck did you get that air cooled aluminum headed engine up to Diesel level compression, what 17:1, without breaking the crank or SOMEthing. Please EXPLAIN YOURSELF

The front end is a bus....the engine is probably the TDI because it rode smooth as shit.
It was probably the best car I've drove in awhile :) I'm not sure exactly how he did everything, but the frame was customized.
the inner role cage was also installed. plus the side cabe tube have space for fishing poles or what ever you want. he also built the platform on top to fit a queen blowup mattress. you can also attach a tent to the pipes on top of the car. there is a ladder in the back.
