While at a mall with her mother and brother, Carol Anne suddenly loses sight of them while looking into the eyes and face of a menacing-looking old man. She runs from his advaces toward her, but quite unsuccessfully. She seems to almost remember this man as he eerily begins to sing to her. Diane and Robbie find her in a complete daze and thank the mysterious "stranger", who weirdly insists it was his pleasure to be with her. They begin to leave but Carol Anne freezes, taking one last hard look at this spooky person.

@MrKillerman229 The doctors diagnosed her with chrons disease and she was sick for a couple of years and was on medicine that made her swell (which you can see in poltergeist iii). One day she collapsed and was taken to the emergency room and died later that night. They found out that she did NOT have chrons disease, but some sort of intestinal blockage that could have easily been resolved. Very sad that she died because of a wrong diagnoses.
