How to import website data directly into excel and link the cells back to the web data. This allows for you to update the spreadsheet when the data on the website updates.

Follow along with the spreadsheet used here and get more stuff including templates, macros, keyboard shortcuts, etc. on the website:

  • Awesome, but got a question. how might I go about having a "CELL" where I input the Ticker, such as MSFT or GOOG and then have the spreadsheet search financial.yahoo.com for the table.... much like what you did, but put the ticker inside excel, and auto extract the exact same tables you posted in this video.

  • Thanks man :)

  • This tutorial has been very helpful to me.... Thanks guys

  • @outcoolin I need that too. How to import a line of data based on the position it has on a particular website. If you've found it pls share

  • @MrSUPERUSER did you ever figure out how to import one particular line out of a set of data

  • Cool, almost exactly what I was looking for. Only I just wanted to import one particular figure, not a whole table.

    I'll figure it out, cheers.
