Dissidia: Final Fantasy - Garland Combo Tutorial / Guide

Here I'll show the most common Garland's Combos, using the variety of ground and air attack he has. Note:
DC = Dodge Cancel.
RDC = Return Dodge Cancel (dodge backwards and upwards quickly)
BDC = Backwards Dodge Cancel

- BRV to HP Combos

+ Round Edge - Earthquake: Easy to pull off combo, problem is it doesn't work all the time.

+ Round Edge - Tsunami: Same as above.

- BRV to BRV Combos

+ Round Edge - DC - Highbringer(Hold) - RDC - Twist Drill: Remember to hold O button while doing Highbringer and quickly do RDC. Leads to chase.

+ Round Edge - DC - Highbringer(Tap O) - DC - Highbringer(Hold) - RDC - Twist Drill: Longer version of the combo above. Deals lots of damage. Leads to chase too.

+ Round Edge - DC - Lance Charge - RDC - Chain Cast: Great combo to scare human players, remember the Chain Cast may not always work. Can lead to chase.

+ Round Edge - DC - Highbringer(tap O) - DC - Highbringer(Hold) - RDC - Bardiche (- BDC - Chain Cast): One of the most powerful Garland's combo. Great when you need to break your opponent or get some Bravery. The Chain Cast part may not always work.

+ Round Edge - DC - Highbringer(tap O) - DC - Highbringer(Hold) - O: Use this combo when you don't want chase and instead you can do wall rush.

- Extra Combos

+ Cyclone - Tsunami: Use this combo near ground.

+ Cyclone - Blaze: Basic Garland's combo, this is must when fighting mages. Cyclone reflects magic which gives Blaze the time to hit.

Take in note that all the BRV to BRV combos can be done without Round Edge. But it's a safe attack because there isn't much lag after it and the 2-3 hit can't be blocked.

Those Extra combos don't mean too much. Especially for anyone with a magic-blocking attack, like Rough Divide, or even Braver.

Against people like that, it's actually more of a risk to try and pull out the second HP Attack, because it makes you a sitting duck to get hit by a Rough Divide or Braver.

Yeah, there are some characters which can punish Cyclone > Blaze.

This is insulting for someone that uses garland....

Most of these combos can be easily evaded.

Best combos with garland are used upon using assists and then using blaze or flare if in air. On ground it would be tsunami and blaze.

They can dodge round edge + tsunami combo I would think.

It's has been confirmed that if you are precise in your timing, RE > DC > EQuake won't fail... Dude why are you so obsessed in that, I already said in the comment that it does not always work.

THe only viable BRV to HP is Highbringer-> DC-> Earthquake...

Round Edge > DC > Earthquake WORKS when you have the right timing. Round Edge > DC > Tsunami is a mind game because human players won't likely dodge towards Garland because they may think you're doing BRV -> BRV combos. And by the way all the combos aren't discovered/mastered by me, all the credits go to dissidiaforums

I never said they're risk-free. But of course they aren't, al least the BRV to HP aren't risk-free...

so? they are risk-free, there is nothing wrong with showing them. Also Round Edge > Earthquake works if you have precise timing. Thanks anyway :)
