Totally unfair shootout. The hotcake sounds and responds much more like a fuzz. The Luther is just a slightly tweaked tube screamer. They both sound great but what I really want to hear is both of them stacked together! Now that just might be tonal bliss

I think the hot cake is slightly smoother and rounds up more nicely. Luther works better in the leads tho.

I love the Hot Cake in the higher gain settings, but not so much when just needing a little extra push.

Luther is probably a modded Tubescreamer for sure but it sounds good. Hot Cake has its own unique sound and sounds realy good. Which version is this? A standard one with presence or is it the blueberry one?

I think Dr. Z amp produces a fine tone with any pedals. In the comparison of these two pedals, Hotcake sounds richer , smother and more detailed and the Luther drive is more powerful in middle range and distorted to me.
