Basmati rice is the name you're looking for. commonly eaten with indian food.

That type of rice is not as frequently used outside of that part of the world other than in restaurants and/or people whom choose to use it randomly in home cooking. I am a huge fan of indian food as well and a Chef (hence the name) Feel free to ask away anytime if in the future you have a question.
