This song is very dark but but is so wonderfully crafted, it is simply beautiful.

It can't be easy to sing harmony with Shawn. She has such a loose sense of phrasing. Alison does a wonderful job on the fiddle. These two are among the very best vocalists around. I'd include Gillian Welch and Patty Griffin in there.

I am very mad.....I didn't get the email.
Why did they do this without me.
Two of my all time favorites.....together.
And I missed it.
Thank goodness for youtube.

One of my all time favorite modern songs!! Don't know much about Ms. Colvin, Grammy winner I believe in '98- Sunny Came home....but I LOVE YOUR SPIRIT, SONG and Sound! This was released in the early 90's on a 'Sampler' CD along songs from Toad and Wet Sprocket, and other chillin bands....Shawn had me playing this song over and over and over..the avalanche. Thanks for posting and Thanks Shawn!

@kinsmed Thanks! There are no ads because I uploaded this clip with the sole intention of sharing it not to make any money from it (thus no ads). As for including selectable captions, I thought it might make it easier for people to enjoy the lyrics and the video at the same time, rather than having them in the details section. I agree that it's a welcomed option to have them presented this way, but I have the advantage of not being a prolific uploader and thus can afford the time to create them.

@Shadowboro2 You have to use editing software to manually sync each verse with the proper frame & export them to a file which you then have to upload to YT. While it's not rocket science it does require you to invest extra time. By contrast, simply uploading the video and then copy pasting the lyrics in the video description section is a lot less time consuming. So I can see why people who upload 5+ videos each day may not be too keen on creating captions for each and every one of those videos.
