An early take of the song in 1987, also has additional vocals by mccartney's friend Elvis Costello

Whoa Paul. This song is powerful. Who's it about I wonder? "I hang patiently on every word you send. Will we ever be much more than just friends? As for you, you sit there playing this game..." Sounds like his relationship with John in the 70's.

Neat to hear an early take of this song. The actual version on "Off the Ground", however, is remarkable. That whole album is filled with marvelous tunes. It was a great era for Mccartney. So much of his solo stuff is abhorrently underrated.

Yes, and the "Off the Ground" *particularly* underrated. It contains some of his best melodies.

Great duet version of this great song. It was still a great song on OFF THE GROUND which had a lot of gems like this one!

Paul's at his best when he's not smoothed down / overproduced his songs... this raw and primal version is just great. But Stranglehold is still my fave of today. Gonna listen to Press album again :)

Great version of a great song. Elvis C can sure sing a duet! Now we need a version of this video with more than one picture and it'd all be complete!
