To be honest I don't think his singing sounds like SRV. He's just singing the blues, and it's completely different. He has got a more whispery tone in his voice. While SRVS singing was more powerful.

Also I find his guitar playing alot more interesting than SRV:s, it's not as predictable as SRV. It's like a fusion of Clapton/Hendrix/SRV and ofc BB King. Just my opinion.

Heavy strings and his hands mostly. He likely has some Fender Custom Shop pick ups too that are wound 'really hot'.
