@mkailov13 ture enough, late 90s pens were better than I remember. you want to search "sharing the wealth in the new nhl", there is a good article stored at Vanderbilt. The pens are contributors now I am sure, but they were an anchor for a few years there, you can imagine why hockey fans would be slightly annoyed by bandwagon pens fans acting like they own the place and calling teams like the wings that held the sport together "washed up", etc.
-
The late 90's was one of the Pens' better eras. Jagr, Lemieux, Kovalev, and Straka took the team deep into the playoffs every year. Yeah, prior to the salary cap, bigger cities had the advantage. But it looks like Detroit couldn't keep up with the playing field leveled. And where are you getting this idiotic notion that teams are just sending money away to other teams? I would LOVE some proof of this.
-
@mkailov13 dear dumbass, you don't need to sign your name to your youtube posting. Detroit was still selling more than 20000 tickets when they weren't selling out which is far more than pittsburgh sold when their arena held 16000. with a small arena and 10$ tickets, pittsburgh was certainly a b-market team through the late 90 through 2005. many games had less than 10000 attending. LOL if teams like the wings didn't send money, the pens would have been moved to hamilton LOL dumbass.
-
LOL that was a real doozy you pulled out of your ass. The Red Wings send money to Pittsburgh? WHAT? HAHAHAHA! And by the way, before you go calling Pittsburgh a B-market, just let it be known that the city had THE highest local TV ratings in the nhl. Detroit's the city that can't sellout playoff games. Dumbass.
You've just been.. KRONWALLED!
