Steve Clark performs "Wasted" (From On Through The Night Album) in 1983, Montreal. He dazzles the crowd as always and makes absolute awesomeness spew forth from his guitar.

I do not own this video clip. I merely found it and would love to share the Steve Clark Magic with everyone.

  • Love THIS ! studying clark and learning from him, hehad such a great feel and sound !

  • I know man, some people said he played sloppily, but I beg to differ, he had such unorthadox box shapes to follow. So emotional in every note he played. Riff in peace Steve.

  • Riff in peace Steve. well said.

Steve was sloppy just means he wasn'T a technician and buffed a note sometime or just played notes out of no where which was really unusual but nonetheless sounded great. he was Jimmy page.

  • yea, playing notes out of nowhere was Phils job lol.

  • They called Jimmy Page sloppy and for most of his career he never missed a note. Same with Ace Frehley. Sloppy is a term invented by jealous 12 year olds who are just picking up a guitar and are intimidated by the skill of men like Clark.

  • @knoxpages Def Leppard was the Led Zeppelin of the 1980s.

  • Steve died 21 years ago today, the Riff Master, Rock God, the reason so many of us wanted to play guitar, RIP SMC!!!

  • Lo MÁS!

  • Calling Steve "sloppy" is an irrelevant criticism. Bottom line, the guy wrote great songs, which is the most important thing. And nothing against Phil, but if you ask most fans who the prefer as a guitarist, most will say Steve.

  • and this is why i love steve so much.

  • @knoxpages Yes, I agree with you. Steve's compositional skills and riffs were very Page-like.

  • Steve Clark was the Jimmy Page of the 1980s. No question about it. Everything to love about this guy!

  • i think they both are awesome..i really love steve but we dont have to forget that phil was his close friend, and def leppard wouldnt have been the same with one guitarrist...but it really anoys me that he was replaced by vivian, i mean it was necessary to be replaced..but at least for a guy that is the same good as him! i hate vivians style, and the songs became ...good..they were awesome and incredible and then they were just good
