http://www.blip.tv/file/3623294 watch the full review uninterrupted here.... Here it is folks, part 1 of 4 of my in depth review/analysis of the 1998 "feature" "film" Star Trek insurrection. This segment focuses on plot suck and picard suck, pointing out yet again the flaws of the TNG feature films and how their failure on the big screen is due to the fact that everything that worked so well in the TV show is changed for the movies to appeal to mass audiences which in turn makes the movies bad and unappealing (see: contradiction, or catch 22)

Special thanks to Mr. Rich Evans, who assisted in analysis process and with research. please enjoy!

  • TV show Picard... we'll call him Larry

  • "I like this movie the most because it seems the most like the series. But I don't like it because it feels like an episode in the series. It's supposed to be a movie."

  • i want someone to do a loop and/or mashup of plinkett's "BROWNZ ND BEIGE" bit... anyone... anyone...?

  • Star trek the force unzipped.

  • I haven't seen the episode in question, so seeing Data geefully announce, "I can reduce this pumping station.... to a pile of debris!" cracked me up. xD

  • @Sutidude HAH yes was just gonna comment. Its a bad thing i was taking a sip at this part. I lost it after the larry line.

  • Now I haven't seen this movie, but why couldn't the Federation gather the radiation from somewhere else on the planet?

  • I watched it today, and I enjoyed it.

    Honest opinion stated....

  • Star Trek HISERECTION LMAO! That was a good one!

  • I guess siding with the Ba'ku while trying to relocate the Natives would seem like a double standard if protecting the Ba'ku meant starting a war with the Cardassians. Or did you forget that?

  • @hotbananapants Ok mah niggs, check it.

What he was saying is that, while he appreciates the fact that the movie goes back to its roots by acting like its show, it just couldn't happen. When a movie based off a show just more or less seems like a longer episode, and nothing felt accomplished, well we don't really like it. It's like a meh factor. Something extraordinary must happen so we can consider it a movie. So yeah, cool that it was like the show, but it just can't work out.
