Paul Friebus of American Cycle Fabrication sets a Land Speed Record on his 1937 Harley Flathead at Bonneville 2009. His fastest speed was 148.166mph making it the fastest naturally aspirated Flathead at Bonneville.

  • Thanks for your interest. Fresh back from the salt again & that bike just ran a whopping 151.800MPH. The bike is in APS-VF class i.e. Vintage. Burt did an amazing speed with that Indian Scout, unfortunately he had converted this motor to an overhead valve when he ran on the salt. We believe that Burt's fastest speed in a flathead configuration was in the 120's MPH.

  • fast for a non streamline motorcycle.Probably APS class I know that Burt Munro set the record for streamline 600 cc motorcycles at 201mph with a 1920 Indian scout.

    Pretty wicked to see a flat head v twin do that though!
