Full Halo CME + Proton Flare / Solar Watch Nov 27, 2011

Full Halo CME / S1 Minor Radiation Storm:
At 07:00 UT, a magnetic filament exploded in the northwest quadrant of the solar corona, causing a powerful Coronal Mass Ejection. Analysis of the Lasco C2 and in the latest STEREO Ahead/Behind COR2 images, it does appear that most of the explosion was directed away from Earth. A glancing blow may be possible in 48 hours. The proton levels reached the S1 Minor Radiation Storm threshold and slowly subsiding.

@Oriannubis i try to make the reports as simple as possible so everyone can tune in to the information, i dont think people like the pure scientic type of reports anyway

@mechesr328 i dont think so, this is classified as a minor storm by the agencies. the big impacts come from earthfacing eruptions

@xorxand1001 both services contradict each other, however expect them to change the data shortly ... the reason i showed both service is because of the implications of a direct hit compared to a complete miss.

if this does hit the earth it would cause a significant geomagnetic storm, showing both animations was important to keep everyone informed
