  • Thank you SO much for this video. This is by far the best I have seen yet. I am looking forward to trying my first applique. :)

  • @carlynicoleelliotte You are very welcome! I am glad you found it helpful. Raw edge applique by machine is one of my favorite methods for applique. It is fast, easy and lots of fun!

  • Thanks! It's great to see how it is actually done stitch by stitch. Did you glue it down? Do I have to glue it down first? Is the background fabric thick denin?

  • @aidabach Yes I did use denim on the background, and the hear was fused to the background. You could just pin it or use a glue stick if you prefer.

  • 3 YEARS LATER AND THIS VID IS STILL HELPING PEOPLE. THANKS SO MUCH!

  • @MrCharliesangel I am glad you found it still helpful.

  • I vote this as one of the MOST HELPFUL applique videos on YouTube.

She gets right to the point, gives details, and has close ups.

I can't stand those instruction videos that have useless chit chat, and no close ups.

  • Great video. It is clear and concise.

  • @Sewmuchquilting My sister had a broken vintage Necchi machine, a friend and I just opened it up and fixed it so I'm really excited about using it, it's such a beautiful machine. Your video is very nice because it doesn't use a digital machine (those practically do the job for you haha), so I definitely found it useful. Thank you so much.

  • I love this, I am a beginner and this has been by far best applique tutorial I have seen!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!

  • @MrCharliesangel

Great tutorial. I do have a question though, Did you use some type of iron on fusible material or starch on the heart. It looks really stiff and I was just wondering. Also what type of thread did you use? It looks really thick. Thanks again for sharing.

  • @MrCharliesangel I am glad you found it still helpful.
