"These guys, for all that stuff they've been telling us all these years about, 'Go capitalism! Free market! Free enterprise!' They don't believe in any of that. They don't believe in free enterprise or free market. They want socialism for themselves. They want a handout and a net for themselves. To hell with everybody else, but give it to them. And I think, really, what we're seeing now -- with them, with the banks -- we're seeing the end of capitalism. The end of capitalism as we know it and I say good riddance. It hasn't helped the people or the planet." -- Michael Moore on Larry King Live, Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

such a joke communism and all the selfish people tht want it. it will never ever work. we are working people will never work to give you lazy crack addicts or money
We cannot expect America to jump from Capitalism to communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans small doses of Socialism until they suddenly awake to find they have Communism....
Health care system is one step towards , not away, face it the american way cannot keep going
You have to also realize that our society breeds a mindset that forces us to be greedy, because if we're not... we won't even get the crumbs of the pie. I think before people are ready for socialism the entire worldview of our nation would have to be changed... Maybe a catastrophic collapse of the world we know today would allow such a thing to happen, I don't know.
Thats not prison, that's just part of the capitalist game. it's like slot machines, tuned to only go of, lets say every 400 people, that means that 399 other people have to suffer for you to get that jackpot and win those lucky quaters. Socialism never failed, the people it was entrusted to have failed, socialism is true freedom, capitalism is global retraction.
That may be true, that everything free and abundant is the sworn enemy of capitalism, but you must realize that most people, if not given rewards for working, don't want to work hard. Once in awhile a great man arises, such as Tesla, who desires to help mankind and puts principle before personal gain, and that is fantastic. But most people are simply not like that. And the constitution was made in order to ensure the free market system was protected and the government could not intervene.
Capitalism is the most successful model for prosperity up till now, thanks to the US constitution which has stood up for over 200 years, not economic manipulation by politicians.
Tesla was not motivated by financial gain, but by the idea of giving free electricity to everyone at no cost because of the abundance he was able to produce....until of course he met Mr JP Morgan. It became all about personal profit after that. Anything free and abundant is the sworn enemy of capitalism.
In continuation of my last comment. The whole idea of profit motive and a natural selection approach, if you will, to an economy is a beautiful idea. I go to a school with kids that are both 10 times richer than me and 10 times poorer than me. We receive the same education, are equipped with the same tools. Yes, they may be able to attend Ivy League and I may not, but I also have something they don't. That desire to come from nothing and be something; The American Dream. Thats not prison.
First off I do not have to look up Tesla, as I have read much about his contributions of electricity to the world. Please, in all seriousness, tell me how you and many others can claim that capitalism is either "bad" or is not a predominant contributor to mankind. In 200 some odd years of America's existence have been advancements that no other nation, in all of the world, even despite the much longer time of their existence, did not contribute nearly as much. There is no economic prison...
Don't for a second think that capitalism is responsible for technology or is the sole contributor to the general advancement of human beings.
You'll notice throughout history, even in what seems to be the bleakest of circumstances, be it communism, socialism, feudalism or slavery, human beings always seem to find a way to advance themselves. It's the creativity of the individual(s) responsible for it, not the temporary economic prison they live through. Look up Tesla.
