Kahtina or kahtain robes are offered to monks at the end of the Buddhist lent as are Waso robes at the beginning. This video shows a kahtina feast at a pagoda in Amarapura, near Mandalay, Myanmar (Burma). Chicken and goat biriyani is served with glass noodle soup, mango pickle, fried crushed dried shrimp, fresh mint and green chilli, followed by dessert, encircled by a display of badethabin (bountiful trees) decorated with robes before the Buddha images and with other donations in cash and kind.
