@geojones69 You had to be gambling. Burnie or VERNON never played unless money was involved. He did give lessons for money though.

I seen Veron do this shot many times in Ft. Oglethorpe GA. He was an amazing player and one of the BEST husslers I've ever seen. Around the local pool hall he didn't play much, no action for him. However he made extra spending money on these amazing bank shots. Anyone know when he died? and how?

If it goes in,it cant very well be impossible, can it???

i used to play vern elliot when he would stop in at genes pool room in myrtle beach--we played bank pool mostly--i won a few--he was a beast when it came to banks

I'm glad it was you playing him and not my. For a man to invent such banks he had to be a beast! You must be pretty sporty yourself.

This shot is demonstrated on paper by Freddy B.'s book but I didn't get it. You're using a ton of outside in this case plus the contact with the rail will flip and aid the transfer of spin. Is the key judging how much of the rail to hit into? The aiming line is into the rail right? Insight please!

I aim into the rail but others have told me they don't but I haven't seen it made that way. Also I have avery tough time making the shot a new equipment, I can get the ball to reverse but its tough to get the legs.
The laser makes it very easy for me to adjust my aim or aim in the same spot each time and then I just have to try and repeat the tip position and stroke speed. I recommend you practice the cross corner shot 1st, its much easier. Same long rail just down near the point of the corner
