Could you tell me why you change the sharpness down all the way? It seems counter-intuitive to want less sharp video...
Thanks,
Dave

@77mrd To create a flatter file, easier to colour grade.

Should memory cards also been changed after a surden time? To they age and prform less good?

@NextWaveG If I buy a Canon 5D Mark II now, will I get it with the firmware updates or do I have to update'm myself?

What kind of memory cards should i get for my 60D? I was thinking of silicon power class 10, which is really affordable. Unfortunately, i havent seen any great reviews of it regarding movie recording. E.g. how long does it record?

Who needs 'equate' when you have 'equivilate'?

I just listened again and turns out he said sharpening loses details. I trust him!

@77mrd Because turning sharpness all the way down turns off digital sharpening. Notice when you turn it down it says 0 and not -4. Digital sharpening is basically crap.

what about color tone?
At around 4:30 when you said you could adjust audio levels for the 5D, did you mean 60D or was there an update to the 5D to adjust audio levels?

@BruckThatsMe Yes, one of the firmware updates for the 5D added manual audio control.

Has anyone addressed the main frustration here: why the hell can't they make a dedicated HDSLR V-I-D-E-O camera with no stupid file size limit? The marketplace is screaming for it. It seems crazy to have to work around a still camera to exploit the video-as-afterthought feature.

I am lookin to get a better slr because i really want to get into video. Would you recommend the 5d or the 7d?

@lastcomicleft Check out episode 2 of HDSLR 101 where we talk about the differences between the models. I would pick the 60D if you only want it for video.
