While exploring the foxholes left by the paratroopers of Easy Company during the Battle of the Bulge, I stumble on a rare find- a chunk of shrapnel, most likely from a German 88. Could not believe it was sitting right on top of the pine needles- looked slightly out of place from the leaves so I picked it up. It was very heavy and slightly curved.
hard to imagine.. right on top of the soil.. and it still remains.. not buried or taken.. where is this?
(that was probably quite the trip I imagine)
