For me..The most extraordinary chessplayer of all time.

Till today, nobody could explain the Lasker style of chess . (Kasparov incl).

Lasker is ahead by dozens and dozens of years of is contemporaries . He was so strong in practic chess, is analisys, in "chamilion" adapting the changing position in chessboard, that he had no school,Lasker is today chess!

Only Crouch, Soltis, and Hubner try understand the Lasker "mistery" play.
And I play, and play, and replay Lasker's games, like gems of chessboard, and infinity beauty of chess.

I dunno if Lasker was the best ,but he was the right man at the right time ... Like Fischer : there is a before and an after both of them .

Lasker was so good and profound that even Fischer couldn't fathom him. Even later when he tried to, shall we say, backtrack, even then his remarks were not in the least insightful. I suspect that at the rrime of each, Lasker might have lost their first game just to get the sounding of his man, and that would have been all for Bobby. Korchnoi had a similar effect on Fischer, both K and L playing messy chess. A Lion in a Thicket that was what you had with Lasker.

Yes ...very good video.I have beaten numerous Grandmasters over the years and Lasker helped me!! While a genius over the board,he still knew the power of "playing the man" at critical points in his career.There are actually times when he played the SECOND best move to lure his foe into becoming dangerously optimistic!!! Great work in playing and posting !! :) This giant was the greatest in terms of seeing chess psychology at its best from a reigning champion.
