Ricky Steamboat and Jay Youngblood return taking on Rick (Black Bart) Harris and Pvt. Jim Nelson. Context is everything here. At this point, Slaughter's Cobra Clutch was an unbeatable hold. Nelson was Slaughter's protege and had been trained by the Sarge on how to use the clutch. Durning this run, nobody got out of the Cobra Clutch...until this match as Jay Younblood breaks the hold. Note how the announcers really play this up as a big deal too.

  • This show is from 1982.

  • anyone know what year this is?

  • No it was in the Carolina's and not Georgia.

  • 1983 Mid-Atlantic championship wrestling.

  • Jim Nelson- Later to be Boris Zukhov and Rick Harris later to be Black Bart

  • Does anyone know, is that Turner's Techwood Drive TV studio, or was this taped somewhere else that just looks similar?

  • how old is this when did it happen and what was the wrestling program called

  • Don Kernodle would jump Ricky Steamboat and rip his coat off. "Hey, Don," yelled Steamboat. "Do you know whose coat that really is?" "Wait a minute! That's...that's MY COAT!!! How did you get my coat!!!" LOL. I wonder how Steamboat came into posession of Kernodle's coat.
